Miami, Florida wedding photography: Lorena and Paul
I began talking with Lorena about photographing their wedding a few months ago when they were thinking about a day-after-Thanksgiving wedding here in Charlottesville. Plans quickly changed, however, and the wedding was moved to Miami where much of their family lives. At that point, I assumed they'd find someone else to photography their wedding. But a few weeks ago, I was blown away and deeply honored when they asked if I would still photograph their wedding in Miami! So early Friday morning I boarded a plane and flew to Miami. Paul picked me up and we had some amazing blackened fish sandwiches at one of his favorite places in town. I checked into my hotel and then we were off to get ready for the wedding! Paul and Lorena have the most amazing families! Paul's family is originally from Wales and Spain while Lorena's family is originally from Chile. Everyone was so hospitable and I was so excited to spend the weekend with them. I was even invited to the family cookout on Saturday at Paul's aunt and uncle's house! I left so completely stuffed from all the amazing cheeses, chorizo, bread, delicious rice and beans, grilled vegetables and more!
All in all it was a great weekend full of firsts for me. It was my first visit to Miami. It was my first kilt wedding (and I will say the Burrows men wore them well!). It was also my first wedding I've photographed where the bride and groomed completely rocked it out on stage at the reception. These two are a talented music duo. Enjoy a few images from the day! And as always, you can head over to our Facebook page and see some more images from their wedding and reception!
